Figures S1–S25.  The IntCal13 curve with a 1-standard deviation error envelope and the data with 1-standard deviation uncertainty in the 14C age and cal age shown in 2000-yr windows. The number of data points for each record within the window is given in parentheses.

IntCal13 Northern Hemisphere atmospheric radiocarbon calibration curve
Format: cal BP, 14C BP, ± Error, Δ14C (‰), σ14C
Δ is age-corrected as per Stuiver and Polach (1977).  The model used for curve construction is presented in Niu et al. (2013).  Note that the data spacing changes from 5 yr for the range from 0 to 13.9 cal kBP, to 10 yr for 13.9–25 cal kBP, and 20 yr for 25–50 cal kBP.  Please cite as Reimer et al. (2013).

Marine radiocarbon calibration curve
Format: cal BP, 14C BP, ± Error, Δ14C (‰), σ14C
Δ is age-corrected as per Stuiver and Polach (1977). The model used for curve construction is presented in Niu et al. (2013). The marine radiocarbon curve for the period of 0–10.5 cal kBP is calculated with the ocean-atmosphere box diffusion model (Oeschger et al. 1975; Stuiver and Braziunas 1993) as described in Hughen et al. (2004).  Note that the data spacing changes from 5 yr for the range from 0 to 10.5 cal kBP, to 10 yr for 10.5–25 cal kBP, and 20 yr for 25–50 cal kBP. Please cite as Reimer et al. (2013).

Southern Hemisphere atmospheric radiocarbon calibration curve
Format: cal BP, 14C BP, ± Error, Δ14C (‰), σ14C
